Kennards Hire Kick For Cash - ACTIV Brand Management



A live SMS competition, roaming concourse activation and engaging brand ambassadors to promote the “Kennards Kick For Cash” competition, resulting in a huge amount of entries and a live half-time on ground activation with one lucky winner!

The Brief

Kennards Hire wanted to leverage their sponsorship of the Sydney Swans AFL with the goal of engaging with fans in a fun and memorable way.

Concourse/Game Day activations can be tricky as Fans are typically on a mission to get to their seats and then the bar.

So how do we give them a great brand experience, plus some 3/4 time entertainment?

That’s where we came in. 

The Result

Using a simple SMS competition and our ACTIV Crew on the concourse chatting to fans, we captured 900+ entries in a 2 hour pre-game period.

One lucky winner was drawn at half time to come onto the SCG ground at 3/4 for the chance to Kick for $25,000 CASH!

A simple insured promotion meant that if the contestant kicked the goal the insurer paid out, not Kennards. It was a WIN, WIN for everybody involved.

​Whilst our footy fan didn’t quite hit his target, he walked away with a giant novelty cheque for $500 and an experience he will no doubt talk about for the rest of his life….and all thanks to Kennards Hire!
