The Block Open Day - ACTIV Brand Management



As a proud sponsor of Channel 9’s hit reality TV series “The Block,” we developed a really cool, interactive activation concept for Kennards Hire that the fans went hammer and tongs for!

The Brief

As a partner of the popular TV series “The Block” on Channel 9, Kennards Hire were one of several brands that were invited to activate at the highly anticipated open day. 

With expected crowds of over 10,000 people – Kennards needed a fun, engaging concept to excite the fans and reach as many attendees as possible. With this in mind, the solution needed to not only be appealing, but able to be accessible to the masses, without crowding the 6x3m activation site.

The solution needed to be safe, interactive, innovative and on brand for both Kennards Hire as well as the show.

That’s where we came in. 

The Result

With an estimated crowd of over 10,000 “block-heads”on the day, our ACTIV Crew cut straight to the chase after setting up the site and were rapidly handing out thousands of “lucky door keys” to fans.

These “lucky door keys”contained a unique code to enter into our iPads onsite which were ready and waiting to notify each contestant, which lucky door they had to open. Behind each lucky door was a mystery prize!

Not only did the fans absolutely LOVE this concept, word of mouth quickly spread and crowds were waiting for their “lucky door keys” to have a go as well.

The result?

We blitzed through nearly 4,000 prizes in the six hour activation period

This triumphant activation not only excited fans, but created long lasting memories for “block-heads” that will continue to be talked about long after the show wraps.

Now THAT is how you successfully create an army of advocates! (or Block-heads)
